Fried Cauliflower Fish
Prep time: 10 MinCook time: 10 MinTotal time: 20 Min
Ingredients
- 1 cauliflower, cut into florets
- 1/4 cup mustard
- 1/4 cup plant milk (I like soy for this recipe)
- Fish fry mix (your fav one, make sure it’s a seasoned one - keep it simple)
- Vegetable Oil for frying (something with a higher smoke point like veg, canola, peanut, avocado, etc)
Instructions
- Cut cauliflower into florets. Rinse and Pat dry.
- Mix together about 1/3 c mustard with 1/3 c plant milk. Toss cauliflower in the moisture to fully coat. Then toss cauliflower in fish fry breading until fully coated.
- Fry in oil at medium heat for about 3 min, until golden all over. Place on paper towel lined dish and let cool slightly.
- SERVE! Enjoy by itself, place on a poboy (swipe to see), salad, whatever! Serve with fries and your favorite greens!
Notes
Air frying is OK IF YOU COAT IT WELL IN OIL! I have found that many pre-seasoned fish fry mixes are pretty cakey and spicy if you don't oil them. I don't recommend using no oil with this recipe.
You can make your own fish fry mix! Use some corn meal and whatever seasonings you want.
