Chickpea Snack Bites
RECIPE BELOW!! This is super easy and so delish!! It’s become my new potato chip!!
If you’re typically not a “bean” person, I highly suggest this recipe. Chickpeas are very different in texture, and when crisped like this, it really takes on a different texture!
I live my life by having “no regrets,” but thus far I have 2: not watching The Office sooner, and not trying these sooner! Just get a can of chickpeas, preferably organic, low-sodium, no BPA can lining.
Watch the video walk-through if needed! Season to your liking (I LOVE a hit of cayenne in there).
Chickpea Snack Bites
These are little crunchy puffs when they're done and they're irresistible! Customize the seasoning to your taste preferences. My son will eat a full can of beans like this -- it's a great way to get your fiber!
Ingredients
- 1 - 13.5oz can of chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- Salt
- Pepper
- Garlic Powder (or any other seasoning you'd like! Cayenne pepper, Cajun blend, chili powder blend, etc. This is completely customizable, so have fun with it.)
Instructions
OVEN (take a little longer)
- Preheat oven to 400 Fahrenheit. After draining and rinsing, pat the chickpeas dry with a dish towel (you want the chickpeas completely dried). Place dried chickpeas on a baking sheet with parchment paper. Add seasoning to your liking, toss to coat evenly, and make sure chickpeas are in a relatively even layer on the pan.
- Bake for 20 minutes, TOSS, then bake another 10-20 min, or until the chickpeas are nice and crispy (they should shrink, some even split, and they sound pretty hard when dropped onto the baking dish -- see video for test to see if they're done!)
AIR FRYER
- After draining and rinsing the chickpeas, pat the chickpeas dry with a dish towel (you want them fully dry).
- Place dried chickpeas on a baking sheet with parchment paper. Add seasoning to your liking, toss to coat evenly, and make sure chickpeas are in a relatively even layer on the pan.
- AIR FRY at 400 Fahrenheit for 10 minutes. TOSS, then air fry for an additional 10 minutes. (They should shrink, some even split, and they sound pretty hard when dropped onto the baking dish -- see video for test to see if they're done!)
